When I first started exploring prostate pleasure a couple of years, I looked online for resources to learn more about it. One of the first things I came across was The Ultimate Guide to Prostate Pleasure by Charlie Glickman and Aislinn Emirzian, which is still the best introduction to prostate pleasure. I also found a bunch of great articles on websites like Bustle, Men’s Health, GQ, and on sex toy websites like b-Vibe (which is where the cool image above comes from). But here’s the thing: a lot of them are written by women. There are also lot of posts about prostate pleasure on sex blogs written by women and gay men. But where are the straight men talking about prostate pleasure?

According to a lot of articles about prostate pleasure, there has been a boom in sales of butt plugs and vibrators among straight men in recent years. So apparently there are lots of straight men out there who are into prostate pleasure. These articles, and The Ultimate Guide to Prostate Pleasure, quote lots of men who talk about how much they enjoy prostate stimulation and how prostate orgasms are better than regular orgasms ("mind-blowing" is a word that comes up a lot). So why aren't we shouting about it?

We know the answer: male-receptive anal penetration is stigmatized. The two big myths about prostate pleasure are that penetration is for women and that liking it makes you gay. As a result, it is still a taboo, at least in mainstream culture, and straight men are especially scared to talk about it. “It’s not really widely discussed,” Aislinn Emirzian says in a great podcast on prostate pleasure. “I think there are quite a lot more people who doing it than there are that are talking about it – and I think that especially applies to straight men.”

This is one of the reasons I started this blog: to share my experiences with prostate pleasure as a straight man, talk about it, and hopefully help to normalize male-receptive anal penetration. Share your own experiences with prostate pleasure in the comments below!
