Why prostate orgasms beat regular orgasms

Many men who have experienced prostate orgasms actually prefer them to regular orgasms. “In many reports, prostate stimulation has been found to be more intense than genital stimulation, leading some men to prefer prostate orgasms over conventional ones,” says an article on Bustle. “There's nothing like a prostate orgasm,” says a man quoted in an article on Men’s Health. I agree – actually there’s no comparison.

When men explain what makes a prostate orgasm better than a regular orgasm, they often talk about how it is more intense or feels deeper. It’s also often described as a full-body orgasm. “Penis-focused orgasms tend to feel localized,” explain Charlie Glickman and Aislinn Emirzian in The Ultimate Guide to Prostate Pleasure. “Prostate-focused orgasms, on the other hand, often feel broader and more diffuse.” One of the men they quote says a prostate orgasm “seems to radiate all over my body.”

That’s all true – it does feel amazing in all those ways. But for me, what makes a prostate orgasm so much better than a regular orgasm – what makes it feel like there is no comparison – is how long a prostate orgasm lasts. A regular orgasm is almost momentary – that feeling of release that lasts a couple of seconds and then it’s over. A prostate orgasm goes on and on – wave after wave or in one long feeling of intense pleasure. I think of a regular orgasm as a dot and a prostate as a wavy line.

To me this is still one of the most mind blowing things about prostate orgasms. Until I began exploring prostate pleasure a couple of years ago, I had no idea that it was even possible for a man to experience that feeling for so long. I had only experienced it fleetingly – almost too quickly to enjoy it before it was all over. A prostate orgasm is not exactly the same feeling – it's better for all the reasons people say – but, for me at least, the thing that makes it soooo much better is that you actually have time to really enjoy it!
